Engagement Session At The Valley Of Fire State Park And Las Vegas
I went to the Valley of Fire for Angela and Tobia's engagement. And we instantly became good friends. They were a fun-loving, adventurous couple who didn't shy away from anything to take a good photo.
Indeed, this trip gave me some good friends and a collection of photos worth remembering.
Valley Of Fire State Park: Angela And Tobia
The Valley of fire lies at the heart of Las Vegas. This location offers some of the country's wildest and most fascinating landscapes. The good thing about this location is the convenience-it is only a fifty-mile car ride from the Las Vegas strip. Therefore, you can stay close to your hotel and still have quite an adventure.
Also, this state park is rich in history. First of all, this is the oldest state park in Nevada. And civilizations have come and gone in this Valley since three hundred years before the birth of Christ. So, these red stones hold a lot of stories. And Tobia and Angela's magical moments indeed added to them.
Talking about the red stones, they are one of the perfect backgrounds for any couple's photo session. As if the passion and wildness of their love have manifested themselves in the background.
And also, this is from where the Valley gets its name. Because when the sun falls on the red stones, they shine brightly like a fire. Someone told me that the formation of these stones took 150 million years. WOW!
The potential of Valley of Fire as a spot for film and photography has long been recognized by Hollywood. Movies like Viva Las Vegas, Total recall and Star Trek Generations had built many of their iconic scenes on these red rocks.
What makes the Valley of Fire an ideal location for photo shooting is that it is less crowded than other similar spots. This is one of the main reasons Tobia and Angela chose this spot for their engagement photo session. And they were right. We had all the undisturbed time to take these marvelous photos.
Tips For Couple Photo shooting at Valley Of Fire
If you are looking to take top-notch photos in the Valley of fire, the first thing you want to do is arrive there early in the morning. This has multiple benefits. First of all, you will face less traffic. So, you will be able to get more quality moments together.
Another benefit of early arrival is getting the whole day ahead of you. Therefore, you will be able to see how the light changes throughout the day, giving you the chance to experiment with different lighting. It's always a wonder to see how the shades of red change throughout the day.
Choice of the outfit is vital in any photo session. And you can get some idea of it by looking at Angela and Tobia's photos. There are no strict rules regarding clothing. Keep in mind that it gets warm in the middle of the day. Plus, the place is full of sand.
So, wear the proper shoes for hiking in this kind of terrain. For instance, sandals are a great option. You can also bring two sets of clothes. Wear one set during the shoots. And the other one when you are wandering around.
Of course, you shall bring a hat and a pair of sunglasses. I think that goes without saying. Also, don't forget your sunscreen.
Remember that you will get plenty thirsty. So, to save yourself from dehydration, bring plenty of water. Otherwise, you might look weary and exhausted in your photos. In the same vein, you want to get some snacks and refreshments.
The Valley of fire is a spot where you can visit year-round. However, it is a desert area. So, it can get too warm in the summer and too cold in the winter. Therefore, take appropriate preparation according to the time of your visit.
For instance, during the summer season, wear light-colored clothes and visit in the early hours of the morning. Similarly, if you plan to visit the Valley at night in the wintertime, then bring along appropriate warm clothing.
And don't forget to check the weathercast because the Valley can quickly flood in the event of rain.
Top Photo Shoot Spots In Valley Of Fire
The vast continuous landscape of the Valley of fire offers a lot of opportunities to take unique photos. So, anywhere in the Valley is a good spot for shooting. However, some sites are more remarkable and photogenic than others, such as Mouse tank road, the fire wave and the Pink Pastel Canyon.
The Mouse Tank Road is an excellent spot for an early morning photoshoot. Just make sure you underexpose the photo while taking it. Otherwise, the bright backgrounds might get washed away.
Next is the Fire Wave. This spot has a unique striped pattern of pink and orange rocks. Your cameraman should target the scene from the bottom of the wavy line to take the best photos.
After that, you can move your photo session to the pink pastel canyon. Here, you will find a much different shade of red. And as you might assume from the name, it is a dreamy fairy-tale-like pink color. However, to some spectators, it looks more tan than pink.
Pink pastel canyon is one of the most beautiful yet hidden spots in the Valley of Fire. You can take pictures on the smooth rocks with relaxed and wavy canyon walls in the background.
The last two spots I want to talk about can be excellent for some amusement. Among them, the first one is the Balanced Rock. It's a natural wonder how this rock has been balancing itself on edge for centuries.
And the second exciting rock formation is the Elephant Rock. It looks like a stone elephant is sitting down with its trunk. Pretty unique what nature can do! Both of these spots can yield some crazy and funny couple photos.
Conclusion
Angela and Tobia's engagement photo session took me to the Valley of Fire. And I couldn't be happier for this opportunity. To end this post, I am praying for a blessed life for those two. May their love be always alive and burning like the Valley of Fire.
